It could even be made with optional mutex callbacks, like OpenSSL and gcrypt
do thread-safety.

This said, it should be noted that you must also set the OpenSSL or gcrypt
mutex callbacks for libssh2 to work multi-threaded (this is unrelated to
sessions/channels being thread-safe or not).
