What purpose does libssh2_poll() fill? (fwd)

This is just repost to make sure everyone had a chance to read this and
respond. If nobody objects, I'll proceed and mark these functions as
deprecated and add them to the list of functions to remove at the next soname
bump etc.

As I just wrote in bug report #2141548:

libssh2_poll() seems to be fundamentally flawed.

I suggest we just call it deprecated and tell people to use poll() instead!

Can you (or anyone else) provide a use case where the normal poll() or
select() isn't good enough or better?

libssh2_poll_channel_read() is another function I don't understand why we
provide in the API...
